Voting Day is Coming

So I made some phone calls tonight for Prop 8... not totally effective, but worth a shot. Benjamin, I like your hugemongous sticker on the car idea better. I just have the little yellow one. And are we registered to vote? Well I sent my stuff in before the due day. If same sex marriage passes... let's just hope it doesn't.

Sporty Spice

She's just so dang cute in her Adidas warm ups! It reminds me of Nadia, in the movie "Nadia", remember that? I think it's the bows. Our sweet MacKenzie is getting so big... and clever! When I asked her today if it was good or bad to eat crayons she just smiled and said, "Can I hold you?" Makes me laugh every time.

The Outside

I was recently visiting with a friend who complimented Justin and I on our home improvements. I thanked her and laughed because I knew I had yet to expose the outside to the internet. Well here it is! While driving down the street mental notes might include, "Nice, nice, nice, WHOA!! What the?!... nice, nice" and it continues mostly nice. It's so sad even my sweet neighbor (amazingly green grass in her yard) comes over and turns on the sprinklers just because she knew they must work. They do, but I'm not watering weeds and I'd prefer a low-no water yard. We got TONS of desert friendly ideas today and in a few months maybe we'll start putting money aside toward such a project. For now, this is what our neighbors have to deal with:)

My Skates

She can't do a thing in them, but insists on wearing them. We got these at our (yes on 8) yard sale. So when I was taking this picture Kennedy wouldn't turn to look until I called her by her new name, "Madison".

Who's a Cheetah?

So I'm making new friends in the ward and look what we got for a hand me down... no not the child, but the costume! Of course we had to try it on complete with whiskers!

You like? I think he looks so cute.

Eragon 3

Or more commonly known as Brisingr. I've been trying to listen to it on the ipod for a week now. Every time I go to listen the batteries die. The other night I was SO FRUSTRATED that I threw the ipod across the room! Totally caught Justin off guard on that one, but hello... no battery power?! Come on. I need to know what's going to happen! Just found out Mertag is a bad guy now! No one told me that was gonna happen.

So last night I came home from the Garcia's all excited that the ipod was fully charged from their computer (we put a better recording of the story and more tunes on the ipod at their house). So in my mind I'm telling myself, "here we go Brisingr"... only to find the ipod was completly empty!!! Not a thing on there! Ahhhh! Ahhh! That's all I'm saying.

Post 192...

... is all about our newest craigslist find! Thanks to Rebecca being the GPS and a BIG thanks to Liz for donating the means to get it home. Love our new table!

Look at those legs. They're beefier than they look in the pic and the whole thing is HEAV-Y!

New Temples!

Did I hear that right? Is there going to be a temple in Rome, Italy?!

Looky Here

Alright this happened a few weeks ago, but I just saw the picture and had to show what I picked up off the side of the road! Kennedy found it, I can always count on my girls and their "eagle eyes" to find such creatures. It was SO BIG I had to show Justin. When neither of the girls would pick up the grasshopper I did. No gloves or anything!

Poor little guy had a few broken legs and died of natural causes shortly there after. But isn't he pretty?!

PS while we're on the subject Holly (the bird) died. Last night Justin got her out to let the kids hold her and she had a heart attack! Can you believe it? Poor little birdie. So we had an impromptu family home evening on death and how we get to go live with Heavenly Father. Farewell Holly.

All About Me

I am: trying to finish painting my kitchen… never seems like it will be done!
I think: the desert is a WONDERFUL place to live. I just love the days hot and the nights cold.

I know: “that my Redeemer lives…” okay that was funny, yet the first thing that popped in my mind, and a lot of musical information that randomly presents itself to the forefront of my mind upon which I comment to myself, “man, I’ve got some serious useless information up here”

I want: Disenyland passes (the cheap ones) and LOTS of furniture for 90% off

I dislike: nuts. Why ruin a perfectly good banana split with nuts?

I miss: being a missionary sometimes. It was so fun… at least it was mostly fun and sometimes just exhausting and long.

I fear: to buy anything the last week of the month! We only get paid once a month.

I hear: my family sleeping and a motorcycle going by.

I smell: … not I don’t

I crave: Nothing at the moment, but I was craving chocolate earlier and made brownies that turned out great minus the part where they were paper thin!

I cry: and then my eyes get REALLY red! I can’t hide a darn thing, my eyes tell all.

I search: craigslist for little hidden treasures others may get rid of Rebecca understands

I wonder: if we’ll really take the kids to the snow this year. We say that every year.

I regret: not moving into another ward purely for the fact that I might have receieved another calling. Nursery leader’s sounding real good about now.

I love: My husband and his new job. We were driving along through his “area” and I started crying! What was that all about?! I just LOVE that he loves his job and I love that we live where we do!

I care: About the people around me. I am always trying to have extra feelers out there... To be sensitive to their needs and help if I can.

I always: kiss my husband after praying, when he goes to work and when he comes home.

I worry: about being “financially independent” translation- completely debt free. We can do it! (I hope)

I am not: a great story teller, but in my mind it’s ALWAYS so funny!

I remember: Remember that one SNL skit about the hairspray…” I’m still so excited!” I was thinking about that the other day… no one knew what I was talking about.

I believe: I can fly

I dance: in the car.

I sing: alto & tenor… sometimes bass

I don't always: Listen to the Spirit. It usually comes back to bite me in the behind.

I argue: with Justin about who is the most observant driver. Definitely it’s me hands down, but then he brings in “and I’ve been trained and you still think you’re a better driver”… well it’s true. Some things are true whether you believe them or not.

I write: in my journal. Have regularly since jr. high

I win: Amen to Khristie’s response here! But I do win… okay not much is coming to me… I stole the remote from Khristie YEARS ago and she still has the scar to prove it! Ha!

I lose: Settler’s of Cattan ALL the time! What makes it worse is that Justin ALWAYS wins! It’s all a conspiracy I know it!

I wish: Our yard looked like Aunt Nedra’s backyard plus a large swimming pool.

I listen: to audio books on the ipod

I don't understand: what’s up with the dinosaurs?

I can usually be found: at home, wondering what the next meal will be

I am scared: of bears in the night while camping. I had to have Katelyn go with me to the bathroom at age 28! Thanks Katelyn. I know they’re not following me around… but what if they just needed a little snack?

I need: At least 3-4 meals a day.

I forget: Almost everything I tell myself I will not forget.

I am happy: well I am!

How about Lesa, Kristen & Kendra are now tagged

Holly, not Polly

We were given our old bird cage, after leaving it in Derby Acres for some 9 months. Upon finishing the kitchen counter tops, it took Justin about a day and a half to fill the cage with 3 love birds. For those of you who are not sure what kind of bird a love bird is... well it's in the pics. 2 of the 3 flew the coupe (figured out how to open the cage) so now we've got "Holly" left. Her wings were clipped yesterday and now the real torture begins...
